Department Description

The Department of Operations is responsible for providing, managing and optimizing the tools and resources required for Egale to efficiently execute its mission.

Job Description

Reporting to the Director Operations, the IT Administrator is responsible for managing the technology used to support the Egale team and deliver our programs and services. The IT Administrator will participate in operational and business critical projects through the scoping, planning, execution, and implementation. Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Help Desk
    • Provide IT support to staff and clients via phone, email, remote desktop and in person
    • Track, resolve and escalate IT tickets
    • Document standard operating procedures and contribute to internal process improvement
    • Manage user accounts and access permissions
    • Map Egale’s IT ecosystem and identify risks
    • Create and test disaster recovery plan

 

  • Hardware
    • Maintain inventory of IT assets
    • Manage file servers and backups
    • Provision and upgrade laptops, tablets and other devices
    • Troubleshoot and maintain printers
    • Maintain building security technology via cameras and access control systems

 

  • Software
    • Manage software licenses and renewals
    • Monitor and troubleshoot data security
    • Source competitive and creative solutions to enhance program delivery

 

  • Network and Communications
    • Responsible for WAN, LAN, WLAN, internet and intranet network maintenance, including routers, firewalls and switches at all Egale locations
    • Assist in network infrastructure architecture, design and deployment
    • Maintain VoIP, analog and mobile telecom systems including Skype for Business
    • Monitor and report on network health

 

  • Web and Cloud
    • Setup, configure and deploy web and cloud applications including
      • Google Apps
      • Office 365
      • Client and Donor Databases
      • Digital Payment Processors
      • Email Campaigns and Social Media
      • Analytics
    • Manage Egale websites and online eLearning platform
    • Work with hosting providers and vendors to optimize systems

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science or other relevant field or equivalent work experience
  • Understanding of intersectionality and anti-racist/anti-oppressive (ARAO) practice
  • Strong organizational, planning and project management skills
  • Ability to determine priorities, be self-directed and work with minimal supervision
  • Works well independently and as part of a team
  • Strong web programming skills (HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP, WordPress, Drupal)
  • Graphic design skills
  • Must be flexible and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Must have ability to effectively manage a project from its initiation to delivery
  • Familiarity with the LGBTQI2S community and LGBTQI2S human rights more generally
  • Experience working in a not-for-profit, LGBTQI2S community and/or social justice environment
  • High proficiency in a variety of computer applications (e.g. MS Office Suite, Adobe, Google applications)
  • Valid Ontario G driver’s licence or equivalent required
  • Written and oral proficiency in French is an asset
