High school can be full of challenges and pressures that affect a young person’s health and wellbeing. Academic stress, personal relationships, and navigating identity can all weigh heavily on both the mind and body.
This activity introduces simple body-centred exercises designed to help youth manage anxiety and reconnect with themselves and their bodies in a supportive way. These exercises are designed to encourage self-regulation, body awareness, and mindfulness.
For 2SLGBTQI youth especially, these exercises can offer support in navigating added challenges around social acceptance, body image, and belonging. They offer a non-verbal way to process emotions and feel more balanced.
