Under the direction of the Director of Operations and Director of Transitional Housing, the Project Financial Analyst is crucial in providing financial planning, analysis, financial management and control services to Egale unprecedented transitional housing project.  The Project Financial Analyst is the primary financial advisor on the project’s financial performance, providing financial and compliance reporting, and monitor project’s financial and budgetary controls are met.  The individual will be the key in providing strategic and expert financial and business analysis and advice to ensure informed decision-making in relating to the Transitional Housing Project.

  • Develops, interprets, and implements financial models to evaluate all aspects relating to the transitional housing project, including business case development and cash flow models, and other types of financial analyses for decision making purposes
  • Provides strategic and expert financial analytics, planning, management and control services and project/corporate financial oversight, including business/service analysis and the evaluation of the project plan, operating budget estimates and submissions and monitor the ongoing performance measures, results and outcomes
  • Participates in or leads the transitional housing project strategic and operational discussions, and advices on financial strategies, setting priorities, identifies potential risks and improvement opportunities with planning and analytical techniques
  • Provides profitability, sustainability and performance report by analyzing data in real-time, historical data, performance metrics and market figures
  • Liaisons between Egale’s project team, external project consultants and funders, including providing project progress report, issues resolutions, interpretation and compliance with financial reporting
  • Works closely with Finance, Project Management and Transitional Housing teams to improve forecasting effectiveness, reporting and accuracy for the project and/or other organization’s objectives
  • And other duties, as directed, for the delivery of the department’s strategic priorities and/or to meet key deadlines.

We’re Passionate About Finding Someone Who…

  • Post Secondary education in Business Administration, accounting, financial management or related field
  • Professional accounting designation (i.e. CA, CPA, CMA, CGA)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in progressively responsible financial and business accounting roles, including at least two (2) years as a financial analyst or in equivalent role
  • Strong knowledge of budgeting, accounting and cost control principles, methods and practices
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a multi-million short term project portfolio with ability to work under time sensitive deadlines and interpret complex data and drive fact based analysis
  • Must be able to articulate results in a clear and concise way, with the ability to present financial reports and analysis to stakeholders with solid influencing and negotiating skills
  • Has experience working in a construction, project base portfolio, and/or not-for-profit industry is considered strong asset
  • Has knowledge / lived experience with the diverse experiences and identities of LGBTQI2S communities is preferred
