Egale Youth OUTreach (EYO) Counselling and Drop-in Centre provides a range of services and support that help to stabilize crises and address the needs of youth up to age 29 identifying as LGBTQI2S.

This is An Exciting Opportunity To…

Under the director EYO, Program Manager, the Service Coordinator plays an integral part to support the operations of the EYO center and ensuring continuity, consistent quality services are provided for participants. They act as the primary point of contact for new and returning participants to Egale Youth OUTreach. The successful incumbent will work at hours aligned with the center’s operating hours. The Service Coordinator is responsible for assessing and assigning participants based on urgency and intensity of the crisis or concern. The Service Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the delivery of services in an organized and structured manner.

Duties and Responsibilities

 Assess participants’ needs and coordinate logistics of counsellors, case managers, and/or support workers based on urgencies and needs.

 Support the day-to-day operation of EYO, including responding to and/or forwarding crisis telephone calls

 Monitor and supervise to ensure safety of the EYO space

 Provide support for support workers, case managers, and/or counsellors

 Conduct research and utilize resources and knowledge to support participants

 Provide support in event planning, including community outreach and engagement activities

 Regularly coordinate and communicate with other departments in various projects and/or updates

 Administrative duties may include, distribute tokens, taking meeting minutes, providing records, responding to email, walk-in and phone inquiries

 Work collaboratively with Communications Department in managing social media, public information, posters, etc.

 And other duties, as directed, for the delivery of the department’s strategic priorities and/or to meet key deadlines.

We Are Passionate About Finding Someone Who

 Bachelor degree (or equivalent) in social services, social sciences, or humanities and/or equivalent work experience

 Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working within a busy social service environment, ideally in customer service and/or administrative roles

 Personal qualities must include high level of maturity, professionalism, respect for confidentiality and commitment to the superior level of customer satisfaction;

 Ability to resolve conflicts and manage crises and escalating situations

 Excellent problem solving, interpersonal, organizational and time management skills

 Brings a strong understanding of intersectionality and Anti-Racist and AntiOppression practices
