A project by Egale Canada Human Rights Trust
Egale Canada Human Rights Trust has been the country’s only charity promoting human rights based on sexual orientation and gender identity for over 20 years. From advancing marriage equality rights, to working with educators and school administrators to make safer spaces for students across the country, and everything in between.
Egale’s vision is of a Canada free of homophobia, biphobia, transphobia and all other forms of discrimination so that every person can achieve their full potential, unencumbered by hatred and bias.
Within this framework, fat-phobia, body shaming, and discrimination based on appearance are seen as detrimental to a person’s self-esteem, and in turn a potential danger to their health. With this project, Egale is determined to open a dialogue about men’s bodies; gay, bi, trans, and queer men’s body image; mental health; and health and wellness.
