Project Term
April 01, 2023, to March 31, 2028
Description of Project
In this five-year, national, mixed-methods research study, we will investigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on 2SLGBTQI communities across Canada, focusing on those who have been impacted by domestic violence, intimate partner violence, and unsafe home environments, as well as the ways in which 2SLGBTQI people have fostered resiliency and resistance in the face of a pandemic.
The Current Call
We are looking for topic area experts in 2SLGBTQI gender-based violence (GBV) and/or intimate-partner violence (IPV) to support a five-year project. Please note that this is a specific call for Indigenous, Black, and/or POC scholars working in the area of 2SLGBTQI GBV or IPV. Funding is available for scholars in the form of an annual course release or a research stipend.
Remuneration and Time Commitment
Academic experts will not be considered full-time employees of Egale, but will be provided remuneration through an annual course release or research stipend with the support and approval of their institution. The time commitment is approximately 5 hours per week for a five-year term.
Eligibility
Eligible candidates are those who have current and continuing affiliation (rank of assistant, associate, or full professor) at a Canadian post-secondary institution in a relevant department or faculty, or are affiliated with a community-based research center. Selection criteria include scholarly expertise as it relates to the topic area noted above (2SLGBTQI GBV or IPV). Lastly, this opportunity is for Indigenous, Black, and/or POC scholars only.
