In January 2013, Egale became a registered civil society organization with the Organization of American States (OAS). This special status allows us to be an active participant in discussions on strengthening LGBT rights within the Western hemisphere. We also plan to work closely with the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) Unit on the Rights of LGBTI Persons.
