The weekend will begin with a social event on the evening of Friday, July 7, followed by the summit itself on the Saturday and Sunday. The final session will wrap up by 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 9. We recognize that these dates are approaching soon, but felt it important to hold the summit sooner rather than later, in view of the rapid pace at which the various marriage challenges are unfolding. We hope that the short notice is not too much of an inconvenience, and that you will be able to join us.
EGALE has applied for funding from the Court Challenges Program to host this consultation, and we are optimistic that some funds will be available to help defray the costs of participation. We will also seek to keep costs to a minimum through billeting etc. If you would like financial assistance with travel arrangements or other costs, please contact John Fisher, Executive Director, EGALE at 1-888-204-7777, john@egale.ca by Friday, June 23, 2000. Those traveling by air are advised to purchase tickets by this date as well in order to take advantage of two-week advance discounts.
We would also welcome your input into the agenda for the weekend. We will distribute a more formal agenda closer to the time, once we have had a chance to review participants’ comments and feedback.
