As of January 8, 2024, Egale Canada will begin a 6-month 4-day work week pilot project. During the pilot project, our offices will be closed on Friday every week.

Our mission of supporting 2SLGBTQI people and communities is at the core of everything we do and at the centre of all the decisions we make, and this was no exception.

It is crucial that we continue to find new and innovative ways to sustain our advocacy long term. One of the key ways to do this is ensuring that our staff feel cared for, supported, and valued. With this pilot project, our goal is to improve staff well-being including mental health, while sustaining and amplifying the positive impacts we make as an organization.

We remain committed to maintaining the same quality of services and engagement in all of the work that we do to inform public policy, inspire cultural change, and promote human rights and inclusion through research, education, awareness, and legal advocacy.

Monitoring and evaluation will occur throughout the trial with a final assessment at completion. A great deal of planning and preparation have gone into the implementation of this pilot project, and it is our hope and goal that it is a success.

Without our incredibly dedicated staff, we can’t support our 2SLGBTQI communities. This project is aligned with our values; the health and well-being of our staff is paramount.
